What is pain? Pain is the sensation of agony, distress, or discomfort which results from stimulation of specialized nerve endings in or outside the body. Pains can result from weather changes, spasticity, pressure sores, bladder complication, overexertion, stress, tobacco use, fatigue, anxiety, adverse psychosocial situations, advanced age, or as a result of the wound.
